Lithuanians have always been known as talented and hard-working craftsmen. For the past three years, I have been travelling around Lithuania and observing the old craftsmen – weavers. Today I have the opportunity to offer you the result of my work – a limited edition genuine Lithuanian sweater, closely linked to Lithuania’s cultural heritage.

The sweater is unique in its pattern, which is created using the old techniques to weave a rare and intricate custom-patterned fabric.

Inside the sweater there are two QR codes, which, when scanned, provide visual and textual material about the weavers who contributed to the creation of the sweater’s pattern: Magdalena (94 years old), Verutė (91 years old), Vita (85 years old) and Teofilė (85 years old).

    This woven piece was crafted by Augutė Telešienė from Marijampolė district, born on March 10, 1926. Augutė's daughter estimates that the woven piece was made around the year 1972. My mission is to inspire modern people to respect the ancient handiwork of our ancestors, to collect them, and to appreciate them as an important legacy of Lithuanian history.
